Christian Love Poem: Dreams

Dreams

I have loved you in my dreams
A love that cannot be replicated it seems

Dreaming of a love that once was had
Only makes my heart race and my thoughts increasingly sad

Dreaming of a love that still has a chance to be
Makes me want to pour my heart into you for the world to see

One day is all I ever hoped for

One day you won’t want to walk out my door

Write to me, sing to me, I will take it any possible way

My heart and soul cries out for you to always want to stay

The truest test of love they say is in time
To stop loving you and move on would be fitting of a crime

Living this life with you by my side here
Always seemed to make the journey a little more clear

You always brought certain clarity to this life of mine

I always hoped to spend each every moment of time
Laughing and dreaming, hoping for good times to come

But there was always something else that came up that needed to be done

One day my dreams I am sure will come true
Even though I wished for all of them to be spent side by side with you

I will spend each and every day thinking of what we once had

Though my heart will heal and somehow won’t feel so sad

Right now though I am not sure where I will go
So I will just watch you leave with my heart healing very slow

Someday I hope that you will come to see
I was always there right where I wanted to be

You will see that my heart is, was and always will be yours

And if you choose to come back, there will always be an open door

For I have dreamt of a day that my dreams will come true

That dream is of me spending eternity with God alongside you
