Christian Marriage Advice: Quarrelsome Fiance'

by Edwin

Question: My fiance always quarrelsome and don`t agree wife submit to husband what is the solution for giving her explanation ? She always denied God`s word if she feel that there is no benefit for her & her family. She agree for marriage but denied bible says For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife.

Answer: Edwin, your desire to explain God's word to your fiance is good but we think maybe your love for your fiance is causing you to overlook some VERY important facts. Please consider what we are about to say carefully and prayerfully.

The Bible says that we are not to argue about the word of God. Arguing about the truth is not good and neither is it necessary. Those who belong to God know that He is the way, the truth, and the life. So, when your girlfriend disagrees with God's word, instead of arguing with her just let it go.

Also, the Bible tells us that people who do not belong to Christ will not be able to comprehend the things of God. Does your girlfriend believe that Jesus is the son of God, that He died for our sins and rose from the dead on the third day? Has your girlfriend accepted Christ as her personal Savior? It doesn't sound as if she has, because if she really loved Christ, and had His Spirit inside of her, she would embrace and hunger for His teachings. As Christians we believe ALL of the Bible not just parts of it.

It sounds to us as if you are in a relationship that is "unequally yoked". Being unequally yoked means that you are partnering with someone who does not share the same beliefs as you. This is discussed in detail on the following page of our website: http://www.christian-marriage-today.com/equally-yoked.html

In the Bible God tells us NOT to be unequally yoked. So, if you are planning to marry a non-believer who denies the truth of God's word, you are disobeying what God has said. He clearly said not to be unequally yoked with unbelievers.

When God gave Eve to Adam He did so because He saw that Adam needed a suitable helper. If you are planning to marry someone who does not have a heart for Christ and His word, can you honestly say that person is a suitable help meet for you? Do you believe God would send you a wife that does not share your passion for God and the Word of God? Of course not. God wants the best for your life!

God is always speaking to us through His word and through circumstances, but often times we ignore Him because we desperately want things to go our way. Sometimes the things that we want so badly are not the things God wants for us. God has been speaking to you this whole time; 1.)God's word tells you NOT to be unequally yoked, 2.)God's word says not to argue about the word, and 3.) your fiance's behavior speaks for itself.

All three of these are examples of God telling you what to do. These are the red flags/warnings signs that your getting from God. Please be obedient and listen to Him.

Obey God's word, pray and ask Him to send you a wife who shares your love for God and His word. Wait on God to send the right person. When God sends you the right person there will be no arguing over his word.

Take it from someone who's been married and divorced, it is far better to wait for God to send you the right person than to try and make the wrong person the right person.

"Wait on the Lord be of good courage, and He will strengthen your heart, Psalm 27:14"

" A quarrelsome wife is like a constant dripping on a rainy day, Proverbs 27:15"

"Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers, for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness and what communion hath light with darkness, 2 Corinthians 6:14"

Hopefully we have said something to enlighten you and cause you to reevaluate your relationship. We pray we did not offend you but everything we told you is in the Word of God.
