Christian Marriage Advice: Ready to Leave My Marriage
Christian Marriage Advice Question:
I feel very alone and I guess I am searching for help, or comfort, or something. I have been married over 10 years and I basically never feel good enough. Having lost my aunt recently with yet again no support, I can't do this anymore. He (my husband) is all about the church and its values but not about me.
I am not perfect I know this, but I can't take the pain anymore. I need help I feel like ending it all but I would never do it I love my children and God and don't want to lose God. please help me.
Answer:
Beloved, the first thing you must know is that you are the apple of God's eye. You are created in His image and therefore, you are enough! We come against any spirit that would try and convince you that you are not!
Here is our advice:
1. You must guard yourself against the spirit of depression, and focus your attention on becoming healthy. God wants you restored, and your children need a healthy mom.
But how can you do this when it seems all hell is breaking lose around you?
By submerging yourself in God's Word and staying in God's presence. So, for the next couple of weeks, stop focusing so much on the inadequacies of your husband and focus on healing YOU.
Your husbands' assistance is not needed to facilitate your healing. You see, God is the ULTIMATE healer, and all He needs is your commitment and obedience.
Begin this process by setting a time for daily prayer and reading God's Word, and stick to it. Let God minister to you each day. Put on some worship music and lose yourself in His presence.
Here are a few scriptures you can read and meditate on:
Psalm 107:19 Isaiah 41:13 Mathew 6:33 Hebrew 13:5 Numbers 23:19 Psalm 89:34 Jeremiah 32:17
Also, during your time of prayer, pray daily for your husband and ask the Lord to give him a heart to hear your concerns. Pray this daily.
2. Next, regarding the loss of your aunt, here are a few books we recommend to help you through the grieving process:
A Grace Disguised The Problem of Pain Grieving the Loss of Someone
3. After you have gotten yourself to a healthy place spiritually, and mentally, then have a conversation with your husband. Calmly share with him what's on your heart. We recommend the two of you download and study the Free Bible Study Lessons, What Your Wife Needs & What Your Husband Needs. Click here to download the free Bible studies.
4. If your church has a Marriage Ministry, we recommend the two of you become actively involved.
We love you and will be praying God's best for your life!
