Christian Prayer Request From Tom Leon

by Tom Leon
(Yucaipa, California, USA)

My marriage has suffered major damage due to my drinking and being a cruel and not so understanding person. These actions over the years have caused my wife to seek divorce and has turned to another man. We are currently living apart and I have been turning my life back to the Lord. I have stopped drinking and luckily have found the strength to not want it. My wife says that we are absolutely done and she will not even speak to me except through text.

Please pray for the Lord Jesus to heal our hearts and bring us back together so that we may rebuild the marriage based on the Lords standards. I feel in my heart that I can put the the affair my wife is in, Far far away. I Love her with all my heart and can forgive her for anything. Unfortunately she does not feel the same at this point. I have strayed from the Lord in the past. Please help me find my way back to him and help heal this 14 year marriage.

Thank You,
Tom

Hi Tom,

I have been where you are, except I am the wife
of an abusive, prescription pill abusing husband who was cruel, dishonest, and the list goes on.
I fell into the spell of someone who treated me right. Who was kind, complimented me, laid back, non addicted. Its hard to walk away from someone who treats you well.

As my pastor told me, God will restore your temple first. Satan is good at what he does, he deceives us, dangles things in front of us that we think are good but they are not. He is the king of bondage.

Work on your temple first, then ask God to relieve her of her bondage. Pray daily for the enemy's trap/lies to be seen by her. Its hard to wait for God to change hearts, especially when they become hard. My husband left in March and we divorced in September. 4 weeks later he came over crying and broken. He returned for 4 weeks then stopped talking to me. I know the anguish, the moments you don't want to go on, the questions, does God really care? It's a war, and the objective is to push Satan back until he is completely crushed. The important thing is her salvation and your recovery. God wants no one in bondage, whether it be sin, alcohol, whatever. It is possible because I have experienced it. I too am in much pain and accuse God of not caring, but he is all we have.

Ask him for big things, to move in a powerful way. Hope this helps.

Praying for You
by: Mike and Wanda

Father, we thank you for our brother. We thank you for delivering him from alcohol and giving him a desire for the things of God. Father we ask that you would heal the hearts of both he and his wife. We ask that your perfect will would be done in both of their lives. We pray for restoration and against any attacks of the enemy. We thank you that all things are working together for their good according to your word. Give him peace during this time. Give him a deeper relationship with you. Teach him to totally lean and trust on you during this time. Let him know that you will never leave him or forsake him. But that you are with him always. In Jesus Name, Amen.
