![]() Christian Remarriage Prenuptial Agreement
by Audra
Question: Christian Remarriage Prenuptial Agreement. Being asked if I would agree to a prenuptial agreement was both shocking and extremely hurtful. How can I expect mutual trust and commitment when he obviously feels he needs to protect himself in this way? It has devastated me. I'm numb. We both have children, mine live with me, boys ages 8&10, his are teenage girls he sees only every other weekend at best. We've been together 5 years. This will be a second marriage for both of us. Answer: We understand this must have come as a complete shock to you but we suggest you look at this another way. Instead of taking this as an insult, see this request from your fiance' as revelation from God. You see, a prenuptial agreement is merely a sign of lack of trust. It's an indicator that there are yet unresolved issues in the heart of the other person. It's not about you at all. But it is better to find this sort of thing out now rather than after you marry. So, now what? Should you end the relationship? No. Now is a good time to get Christian premarital counseling. We also recommend praying that God would continue revealing those things to you that are in your best interest. Pray that His will for your life would be done. Remember all things work for the good for those who love Christ. Romans 8:28 Blessings to You, Mike and Wanda |
