Sometimes when you're in the middle of a crisis it can be difficult to gather your strength and go to God in prayer.

You say you trust God but the truth is, deep down inside you're not totally convinced that something as simple as prayer could actually make a difference in your situation.

Well, we know that hopeless feeling. That's why we want to share our Christian testimony, rather our Christian testimonies.

We want to rekindle your faith so that you'll begin praying regularly, as an individual as well as with your spouse.

Be inspired by our stories of answered prayer! But don't be deceived into thinking there's anything special about the two of us. God has given you the same powerful promise in His word that He has given to us:

"Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, believe that you receive [them], and you will have [them]." Mark 11:24

Our Christian Testimony about Selling Our House

Although the real estate market had taken a nose dive, we desperately needed to sell our house. The truth was, we could no longer afford the mortgage. We were a two income household with only one steady income coming in at that time.

But we feared we had waited too late. You see, other homes in our neighborhood had been on the market for 6+ months with no takers.

Prior to actually placing our home on the market, I decided to speak with a neighbor who had been trying to sell her house. I shared with her the news that we too were thinking of selling our home.

Yikes! Why did I say that? She looked at me as if I had three heads and said, "Good luck!"

But our neighbor wasn't the only skeptic. There were others who shared the same skepticism and concern.

But despite the concerns of everyone we talked to, we decided to place our home on the market anyway and trust God. We didn't care that the homes in our subdivision weren't selling. We believed that we had the favor of God on our lives and that He was going to supply our need as He had promised in His Word.

So, every night before going to bed, we came together and prayed. We asked God to send a ready, willing, and able buyer. We asked that the buyer be sent in a timely manner, and then we took it one step further.

As if we had not already asked for enough, we asked God not to allow our home to be occupied by ungodly people.

After the first night of prayer, we shifted from asking God to thanking God. From then on when we prayed, we would say, "Lord we thank you that our home is sold! We thank you for sending a qualified buyer! We thank you that the buyer is a Godly person! We thank you that this house will be a blessing to them as it has been to us!" We prayed that prayer every night.

Guess what happened? Within only three months we had two offers on our home! The couple who actually ended up buying our home were Christians. The wife said she knew our home was hers from the moment she walked in the door. From that moment on she began claiming our house in prayer! She said our house was her dream home!

By the way, when we moved out, the other homes in our neighborhood still had not sold. That includes the neighbor who looked at me as if I had three heads

Talk about a Christian testimony, this story is one of our favorites!

We realized early in our marriage the importance of learning how to pray to God effectively and consistantly. Are you starting to get the picture?

Our Christian Testimony about Wanda's Car Breaking Down

I was driving home after running a few errands when my car began to over heat. I was approximately 4 miles from home but thought I'd be able to make it back to the house.

For the next mile I found myself constantly pulling off to the side of the road to allow the engine to cool down. Eventually, I came to the bleak conclusion that I was not going to make it home after all.

I was now only 3 miles from home, but it was simply too hot to walk the distance. Yes, Michael would have gladly left work to rescue me, but he was at least 30 miles away. And I simply could not embrace the thought of him driving 30 miles to drive me 3 miles.

So, I called my father who is retired and usually at home during the day. He would have gladly come and given me a ride home. But on this day, he was not available.

Sitting in my car, I recalled the Bible lesson that was taught the night before at our church. The lesson was all about prayer. I remember the Elder telling us that God was concerned about every detail of our lives. I also recalled hearing that we should pray about EVERYTHING -- no matter how small it seemed.

So, I decided to pray right there in my car. This is what I prayed:

"Father, last night in Bible Study I learned that I should pray about everything because you are concerned about everything that concerns me. God, I need to get home safely. I would prefer not to have my husband drive so far to come and get me. Neither do I want to accept a ride from a stranger. But if you would send a police officer my way I would gladly accept a ride home from him. Thank you for hearing my prayer, in Jesus name, Amen."

Immediately I fixed my eyes on my rearview mirror and began watching to see what would happen.

At that time, we lived in a rural area that was so out of the way that visitors to our home would often ask us, "how in the world did you guys find this place?"

It was not an area that the police frequented, so it was not likely that I would see one that day. But never the less, I fixed my eyes on the mirror and waited.

About two minutes after I said Amen, I saw an incredible sight; a police car was approaching. I did a double take -- I literally could not believe my eyes!

While riding in the backseat of the police car, the officer said to me, "It's the strangest thing, but I don't normally come this way. I always go in the opposite direction. But this morning when I got to the traffic light, something told me to turn at the light this time."

He said he did not understand what caused him to abandon his normal route. But I understood it completely!

Can you imagine what would happen if you made inspirational prayers a part of your daily routine? Why not make that your goal today!

Our Christian Testimony about Michael's New Job

I had been working for this employer approximately 2 years. I enjoyed the work I was doing because I enjoy helping others.

But the demands of the job and the ungodly people in management left me feeling tensed and stressed at the end of each day. If the company had done a survey of all their employees they would have discovered that the majority of us were miserable.

Understandably, I desperately wanted a new job. But I was having zero success with my job hunt. That was until Wanda and I made a decision to begin earnestly taking my desire to the Lord in prayer. We decided to pray about this situation together on a regular basis.

Once we began to be diligent in our prayers, I began to get peace in my spirit about the situation. Strangely, I began to feel that I should "be still" and stop my job search. But how would I find a job if I'm not looking for one? I thought.

---SIDE BAR--- When God directs you to do something that makes absolutely no sense, it's generally because He has an alternate plan. In other words, it's an indicator that a Christian testimony is in the making.

Oneday, shortly after my decision to stop my job search, I received a phone call from a gentleman who expressed an interest in interviewing me for a job.

I told him that I did not recall applying for employment with his company. But he said he had seen my resume online and wanted to interview me for a position that had not yet been made public.

Well, I interviewed for the job and was offered the position the same day!

Now the atmosphere where I work is completely different from my previous job. And to top it off, the person who directly manages me is a dedicated Christian. And by the way, I was given a higher salary!
