The exchange of wedding vows is the most important part of your wedding ceremony. This is the time when you make a solemn oath to your fiance' in the presence of God.

As you read our page of sample Christian wedding vows, please keep in mind the seriousness of this portion of your ceremony. Your vows should be a reflection of your heart, not just eloquent sounding words.

Christian Wedding Vows

Groom:

Today I have found favor with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He has blessed me with the love of my life, and for this my heart is exceedingly glad.

He has blessed me with a Proverbs 31 woman; a wife of noble character who's worth is far above rubies.

I pray that He molds me to be the husband of your dreams but more importantly a husband in whom He is pleased.

I will be your spiritual cover. I will lead you as Christ leads me. I will love you as He loves the Church.

I will never leave you or forsake you.

Bride:

Today I have found favor with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

He has blessed me with the love of my life, and for this my heart is exceedingly glad.

I pray that He molds me to be the wife of your dreams but more importantly a wife in whom He is pleased.

I will cover you in prayer. I will honor you as the head. I will support you in good times and in bad.

Do not ask me to leave you or turn from following you. For where ever you go I will go, and where ever you lodge, I will lodge.

Your people will be my people and your God my God.

Christian Wedding Vows

Groom:

I know that God has ordained this love. Because of this I desire to spend the rest of my life loving you. Together we will be vessels for God's service in accordance to His perfect will.

No matter what life brings our way, I promise to always love you and be faithful to you for as long as we both shall live.

In accordance with Ephesians 5, I will submit myself to you and I vow to show you the same kind of love as Christ showed the church when He died for her.

You are now bone of my bone and flesh of my flesh. And in the sight of God we are now one.

Bride:

No matter what life brings our way, I promise to always love you and be faithful to you for as long as we both shall live.

In accordance to Ephesians 5, I will submit myself to you as unto Christ.

I will love, honor, and respect you as the head of our home.

I will build you up when life weighs you down. I will encourage you to walk into God's purpose for your life.

You are now my husband, my lover, my protector, and my friend. And in the sight of God we are now one.
