Can Gay Christians Get Married?

Gay Christian marriage is when a gay couple who believes in Jesus Christ unites in matrimony. This is not legal in most states.

God's plan for marriage...

Our purpose here is to make clear God's original and only intent for marriage. First of all, you should know that God is a God that does not change. In other words, he never changes his mind.

Adam and Eve will be our point of reference since they were and still are the model couple for God's original intent of marriage.

We say this because Jesus himself used them as a point of reference when discussing another marriage related topics, such as divorce.

Although we are not discussing divorce, our point here is that Jesus Himself went back to the way things were in the beginning in order to convey the heart of God.

When Jesus was explaining God's intention for marriage to be a lifetime covenant, this is what he said: "Jesus answered, "Moses allowed you to divorce your wives because you refused to accept God's teaching, but divorce was not allowed in the beginning." Matthew 19:8 New Century Version

The beginining He is referring to is the creation of Adam and Eve.

So, if Adam and Eve are the point of reference, one can only conclude that gay relationships are not the will of God. Why? Because it was not allowed in the beginning."

How do we know it was not allowed? Because God did not create two men, or two women. He created a man and a woman.

When God created mankind, he created man and woman in his image."So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them." Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)

So the image of God is reflective of the characters of both male and female.

In other words, the union between these two different species represents a complete picture of God's image.

Furthermore, the marriage union between a man and a woman is comparable to the relationship Christ has with the church. This is why Christ commands husbands to love their wives even as Christs loves the church.

Only through the union of a man and a women can human life be created. Now listen, if God's original desire was for men to be with men, and women to be with women then he would have also made it possible for them to procreate. Not only would he have made procreation possible, he would have made sexual intimacy natural and healthy

What the Word of God Says...

"For this reason God gave them up to vile passions. For even their women exchanged the natural use for what is against nature. Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of women, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due." Romans 1:26-27 (NKJV)

"Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor homosexuals, nor sodomites, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God." 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 (NKJV)

"Knowing this: that the law is not made for a righteous person, but for the lawless and insubordinate, for the ungodly and for sinners, for the unholy and profane, for murderers of fathers and murderers of mothers, for manslayers, for fornicators, for sodomites, for kidnappers, for liars, for perjurers, and if there is any other thing that is contrary to sound doctrine." 1 Timothy 1:9-10 (NKJV)
