How is my Christian marriage problem important?

by Eva F.
(Wausau)

Question: How is my Christian marriage problem important. I am having a very difficult time asking God for help. I am praying for my marriage to survive. My husband and I still love each other but he is just struggling with where he thinks his future lies. I am trying really hard to be supportive and understanding. I try to pray on it, but I start to feel like there are so many other people with situations in their marriage much, much worse than mine. Or so many people suffering with illnesses, or struggling because they have no jobs. I almost feel like I am bothering God with my problem because there are so many others with problems worse than mine. I feel God's time and attention should be focused on the person whose problem is far more serious than mine. I don't know what to do. Any guidance you can give me would be appreciated. I still carry around a copy of a prayer you said for me. It is a treasured possession that I still read whenever I need a boost. :)

Answer: Hello Eva, whenever you see your husband struggling in a specific area, it is your job to be his intercessor and pray for him. Prayer is what paves the way to God's will being done in our lives. When you stop praying, then that pathway runs out and your left not knowing where to go or how to get there. Satan doesn't want you to pray because he knows there is power in prayer. So, he'll tell you things like "God is much too busy handling bigger problems so don't bother Him with your little problem." But don't fall for that trick. You of course know that God is omnipotent, omniscient, and omnipresent. That means He has all power, knows everything, and can be everywhere at the same time. Basically Eva, He's large and in charge! He can handle everybody's problems at the same time without thinking twice about it. Further more, the Bible instructs us to cast ALL of our cares on Him because He cares for us. Guess what? All means everything -- big and small problems.

So Eva, shut down to voice of the enemy and cast ALL of your cares on Christ. (1 Peter 5:7)

Hope that helps.

Love in Christ,
Mike and Wanda
