I Don't Want to be Married Anymore

Question: I don't want to be married anymore. My husband committed adultery about 9 months ago. We have been in counseling since finding out and my mind hasn't changed, I still want a divorce. My counselor says we are not ready to divorce, I am having the hardest time submitting to that fact. I have lost many friends through this ordeal and I am in great pain. I feel like I have no support from anyone. I have longed to for someone who has gone through what I am going through to be there for me. I feel God in my life. I feel Him everywhere, I just don't see my husband changing. He still does the same things and does just "enough" to get by. Nothing more.
I am a completely broken person.

Answer: Hello Faye. Thank you for sharing your heart with us. We can feel your pain and your brokenness. But we have come to tell you that God really is a healer. We suggest you shift your attention off of the friends you've lost and even off of what you feel your husband is or is not doing. What you must begin to do is totally seek God with your whole heart. Draw close to Him and He will draw closer to you. He will speak to you, and you will hear Him. He will comfort you, and you will know that you are not alone.

Your brokenness can only be mended by the power of God. But it won't happen as long as you are consumed with the chaos around you. If you allow God to consume you during this difficult time, He will enable you to forgive. He will speak to your heart. And then you will know exactly what to do.

Begin to seek Him today. Because whether you decide to stay or leave...you MUST forgive and your soul needs to be healed. So, again we say, seek the Lord. Don't make any decisions without seeking God.
