In-laws separated husband from me

In-laws separated husband from me: I am a girl from India...Am totally depressed and do not know what to do.. Am clutching on to anything that gives hope... I have been married to my dear husband for less than 2 years...but my uneducated and unemployed mother and sister in law took an instantaneous dislike to me because I am a professional and my family is better off.. I have never ill treated them or behaved pompously... I only look at these merits as blessings from God...nothing to be proud of... They slowly started poisoning my husband's mind against me and now he is totally with them and is filing for divorce... the truth is my husband's family has always mistreated him and before marriage he used to be very depressed about his mother's partiality towards his elder brother... now somehow I am their new enemy... I do not know what to do..Pls pray to God that my husband understands the true colors of his family and reunites with me.

The same happened to me
by: Sarah

Hello, girl from India. I feel your pain. The same has happened to me. My husband's mother has done everything she can to keep us apart. His ex-wife was the family enemy...now I have become their new enemy. The problem is that his mother wants to be the only woman in his life...she has to make his wife look bad so that she can still have the place of power and love in his life. It's really sick. Like you I am so sad, I love my husband and all I ever wanted was for him to put God first and then me...to leave his parents and cleave to me. But the dysfunctional ties that bind him to his family are so strong that this stands in the way of our relationship. It even stands in the way of his relationship with the Lord and his spiritual maturity. It hurts really bad. But we can take comfort in knowing God has our lives in His hands. If it is possible for your husband's heart to be turned to his wife where it belongs, God will honor that and restore your marriage. Just remember that your husband has a free will, and God will not force anything upon your husband. So you must pray that God will do whatever necessary to "break" the evil influences in your husband's life. If your husband in a true believer and follower of Christ, the Lord will convict him and hopefully your husband will make the right choice. I will pray for you, and remember that no matter what happens, God is your Father and HE LOVES YOU and HE will never leave nor forsake you. He will heal your heart and make it new, so just trust your life in his hands and turn over your husband and marriage to God. God is faithful and He WILL deal with this. Even now he is working it out on your behalf. FAST and PRAY and seek God's will.
