Marriage Healing and Prayer to Avoid Divorce: Please pray for my husband and I that we do not get a divorce and that our marriage will be healed and restored to the way God intended for it to be. We started dating at age 15, we have been married for 22 years and we have two amazing teenagers. 6 years ago I was very depressed and cheated on my husband with a friend. I confessed it to my husband about 2-1/2 years ago because of the guilt and pain I was going through keeping it in - I also wanted to be honest and open with him. I repented to God and He has forgiven me, I no longer torment myself with guilt and shame.

My husband is a minister and has remained in our marriage for the sake of the children and because of economic reasons, but he refuses to go to counseling so we can get all of the issues out so that healing can begin. He said he forgives me but his attitude toward me shows differently. I have hope that our marriage will stand through this storm, but there's still the thought that he's just waiting until our children graduate from high school and then he'll file for divorce. Please pray that his heart will be softened and his mind opened to get counseling with me.
