My Husband Left Me for Another Woman

Question: My Husband Left Me for Another Woman. I found out that my husband has been cheating on me. I have had suspicions before but didn't have a hard evidence to prove it, until last week. We had an ugly fight and he moved out. I still want to believe that somehow he still loves me despite of what happened. A few days after he left home, I received a text from him telling me he deposited money in the bank for our children's tuition fee. From then on, we text each other every now and then but purely about financial concerns. One time I texted him and told him that he is still welcome to come home if he wants to. I also said that if ever he would need us, we will always be here for him. He texted back saying " I ALWAYS NEED ALL OF YOU. NICE TO HEAR THAT." But I am still confused whether or not this separation is for good or just temporary. He wouldn't discuss it with me, and I'm hesitant to open the topic because I might push him away further. I don't know if he has cut off his ties with that woman. I have no idea. His sister told me he is still wearing his wedding ring. I want to believe that we will be able to fix this marriage. Make things work out. But as of now, since he hasn't said sorry or have asked for forgiveness about it, I don't know if he's feeling any remorse or guilt about it. I have been praying and believing for a miracle that God will reach out to him, change his heart and put that desire in him to walk in righteousness. I really want to see a miracle happen in our marriage. Right now I am so lonely and my kids are affected. They are still young only 11,9 and 8 yrs old. I hope you can help me pray for my family..that we will be restored and reconciled soon.

Answer: First, we want to tell you that your marriage can be restored. Thankfully our God is bigger than infidelity. Most couples see infidelity as a signal to bail out of their relationship, but infidelity is a symptom of deeper problems. It's an alarm, or a wake up call if you will.

It clearly sounds as if you are willing to forgive your husband and make an attempt to rebuild your marriage, this is good. For that reason, we recommend you read The Prodigal Spouse. You'll find valuable principles within the pages on how to properly survive this period of separation and increase your chances of reconciliation. Believe it or not, in your situation (another woman being involved), texting and calling your husband is not the best thing to do. The book even addresses how to handle your children during this time.

As we stated from the onset, your husband's behavior is the result of some deeper issues within the marriage and within himself. Beloved, there isn't much you can do to resolve his issues, only God can do that. So, the best thing you can do right now is focus more of your attention on your relationship with God. Only then will you be able to hear His direction for your life. Only then will you find peace and comfort. He loves you with an everlasting love and will never leave or forsake you.
