![]() My wife left me
Question: My wife left me and moved into an apartment about 2 months ago and I have tried everything, she says she isn't happy and is tired of making everyone happy except herself. We both were raised in church an are both saved. I talked to our Pastor and he has called her and it made her so mad. She says I'm always scheming on ways to get to her. She thinks I have turned our son against her, but he is 12 and knows his parents not being together is wrong. I have turned everything over to the Lord, I just wonder if there is anything that I can do to help put our family back together. Answer: Dear brother, you have done all the right things. You have spoken with your Pastor, and you have given it to the Lord. Now that you have given it to the Lord, you must trust Him to do what you can't. You see, you don't have the power to change the heart of your wife, only God can do that. Pray for her daily, and encourage your son to do the same. Use this time to strengthen your relationship with Christ. Don't just seek to get her back, seek God for an understanding of her heart. She is deeply hurt and needs Him to heal and restore her. In addition, make sure your son understands that his mother leaving had nothing to do with him. Also make sure you don't use him as a sounding board to vent your frustrations about his mother. We will be praying for the two of you that God would completely heal your marriage. In Christ, Mike and Wanda |
