Prayer For God's Will To Be Done and A Fully Restored Christian Marriage: My wife and I are in a tumultuous place. She has held on to anger and bitterness over the years and as a result, has become hardened to me. We have been together for a little over 7 years but only married for about a year and a half. I did not uphold my end of being the spiritual leader in our relationship and while I did pray (although not nearly enough), I did not pray with my wife in such a way that it would ward off the devil's attacks. As a result, she has now reached a point where she is ready to give up. She is confused to the point that she has removed her wedding rings from her finger and allowed a man to fly her to his home during Easter Weekend. She indicates nothing sexual took place but I know (and I believe she knows) that it is not in God's covenant for our marriage for this to take place. She claims she is unhappy and wants to see what else is out there...that she is not sure what the future holds but that since she feels this way, she wants a divorce because it is not fair to me. I love this woman with all my being and I truly believe she loves me. I also believe God put us on this earth for one another and that while we are definitely going through it, it is not too late for him to deliver us. I pray that God puts it on my wife's heart to forgive me fully for my past transgressions (and for those of others against her) and truly let go and let God. I pray the same for myself. I pray that we both look to Him for our answers and not just friends or family. I pray that God shake the devil's grip on what is going on in our marriage so that we may be an example of God's true power. I pray for complete restoration of my marriage in such a way that we live it each day as Christ-like as possible and that it becomes better and stronger than ever before. I pray God's will be done and that our love for Him shines onto one another so that each of us may know that through Him, our marriage can be strong. Amen. |
