Prayer is the Key - Your Faith Unlocks the Door

It wasn't until we discovered the power of prayer and began seeing the results in our own marriage that we really began to take our prayer lives seriously.

We can honestly say that prayer has been a huge part of transforming our relationship on every level.

From making love to making money, we have learned to take every concern we have to God in prayer. And guess what? He always responds.

Prayer Tip #1

We recommend you have a set routine for praying alone as well as a set time the two of you pray together. Find a quiet time in the morning to pray alone, and perhaps a time in the evening to pray together.

Tip #2

Make sure you select a time when you are at your best. If you are not an early morning person then don't attempt 4am for prayer.

Prayer Tip #3

If praying together is not possible for whatever reason, then pray alone. Don't let this discourage you. Ask God to open a door for a time of joint praying. Until he does, continue praying alone.

Tip #4

Use a journal to keep track of your prayers and when they are answered.

Prayer Tip #5

Don't try to impress God with your vocabulary when you pray. Just be yourself and speak normally as if you were speaking to a friend.

Tip #6

When you are done praying don't be so anxious to move on, instead take time to listen for what God has to say in response, if anything. Use this time to worship him with music or just the fruit of your lips.

Prayer Tip #7

Don't give in to laziness. We all have days when we just don't feel like doing anything. So we can gaurantee you will have days when you just don't feel like praying. But don't let your feelings control your time with God. Force yourself to pray regardless of how you feel. This is called denying your flesh.

Tip #8

Don't beat-up on yourself if you should miss a day. Be as consistant as you can.

Prayer Tip #9

Don't give up because your prayer is not being answered. Continue to pray until you see a manifestation of the answer.
