Praying Woman

by July Cosgrove (Daily Direction)

Praying Woman Need Daily Direction

Let me hear in the morning of your steadfast love, for in you I trust. Make me know the way I should go, for to you I lift up my soul. Psalm 143:8

I have never been a “morning person”. God just didn’t design me that way. But I have learned before I sit down to my at home job of freelancing, that I need to first sit down with Him. Somedays when I am meeting deadlines, that is tough. It is tempting to jump right into my work, until I remember my work is first and foremost for Him.

No matter what your “work” is, whether you are a stay at home Mom, or an executive with 200 employees or a cashier at a super market, you primary job is to serve Our God. When you strive to do that, then everything else falls into place- usually. And if it doesn’t, He is still there to help put Humpty Dumpty back together again. God’s mercy is the glue that holds us together when we feel shattered, His grace is the protective coating to keep us from the world.

Every morning, even if it is in the shower, commune with Your Creator and Savior. Psalm 51 prays for God renew a right spirit within us. It is chanted daily as part of an ancient morning prayer service, has been for centuries. I like that, because every morning I need that renewal. I need daily direction to remind me that the next 24 hours are in His hands. I need Him to set my course for the day. Don’t you?

Here's a Morning Prayer for Praying Woman...

Good Morning Lord. Thank you for another day and for safeguarding me and those I love through the night. Give me direction today. Help keep me from bumping into stumbling blocks or my ears and mind filled so much with the din of the world that it drowns out Your voice. Whatever happens today, I put You in control of it. Give me my daily direction on the course You have set for my life. Teach me more about Your love, and let me show it to others I encounter today, so they are drawn to You through me. I pray this through Your Son. All glory and power and praise be Yours forevermore . Amen.

So, are you a Praying Woman? Are you spending time with God each morning? If not, start today and see the difference it makes in your day.

Just as a suggestion I would like to say that I found this book, The One Year Praying Through the Bible, and it helps so much. I have trouble finding time to pray and often its hard to find the right words to say. This book has helped me, and maybe it can help others too.
