![]() Restoration and Reconciliation of My Marriage
by Laurie
Restoration and Reconciliation of My Marriage: I pray for our marriage. I pray that we stay together because I truly believe that God honors marriages and I believe God brought my husband and me together. On Easter Sunday, my husband and I will be married one (1) year. We have filed for divorce because he says that he does not want to be married anymore. He says we are two different people; we did not grow up the same way and that I cannot understand the abuse he suffered as a child, at the hands of his mother. An abuse that he can't get past because he does not know how to let it go and knows that by not doing so, it gives her power over his life. So I pray that he can forgive, thereby forgiving himself and releasing himself from the hurt and anger that he feels so deeply inside and that he stop pushing those away, who love him and that he stops drinking to numb the pain the abuse has left behind. He is afraid of love; afraid of rejection. He says that he doesn't want me to love him and that I shouldn't because he's not worthy of love. I pray that God releases him from the pain of abuse and from the alcohol and from the enemy's hand. I pray that he can see that I love him whole-heartedly with the love that I have for Christ Jesus and that with God all things are possible. I want my marriage. I love my husband deeply and have given all that I have to be a good wife and mother. He says that he loves me. But somewhere he has lost sight of the commitment he made to this family. I pray for healing, restoration and reconciliation. I speak forgiveness and peace in our lives and in the lives of our children. I believe it ain't over until God says its over. There is no good reason for us to get a divorce. I believe my husband and I are better together than apart and that we draw closer to God. I know with Him all things are possible. I pray for continued faith and to know God's voice. I pray that God's will be done and whatever that may be, that there is acceptance. This prayer I ask in Jesus Name, Amen. |
