Unleash Your Power!
By now, all of you have heard of the book The Power of a Praying Wife, written by Stormie Omartian. I was given this book as a gift from a friend many years ago and enjoyed it tremendously. In fact, my husband later purchased The Power of a Praying Husband and regularly used the prayers to pray for me.
This is not a review of the book, but rather a reminder to my fellow Christian wives that there is much power in prayer. Proverbs 15:29 says that God hears the prayers of the righteous. Likewise, 1 John 5:14 says that if we ask anything according to the will of God, He hears us.
So my sisters, why do we sometimes choose to nag our husbands about every little thing, instead of taking it to the Lord in prayer? Yes, there is power in prayer but the power of a praying wife won't be unleashed if you are not willing to consistently pray.
Prayer really does change things, but you'll never know if you don't try it. Let me be clear; trying it does not mean praying one time and then drawing the conclusion that prayer does not work. Trying it means praying consistently on a regular basis.
Oh, I know it's hard. It's easier to just gripe and complain than it is to pray. But guess what? That's what Satan's counting on. He's counting on you keeping your authority and your power all neatly wrapped and tucked away while he wreaks havoc in your home.
But listen my sister, God has given you authority in prayer. Authority to pull down strongholds and to do spiritual warfare. You are not a powerless ant. You are a mighty woman of God! You have the capability of changing your circumstances. Not by your power, neither by your own strength, but by prayer, through the Spirit of God. By the way, if you don't already have the book, I highly recommend you get it.
What are your thoughts? Do you have a testimony about answered prayer? if so, share it with us girls.
