What Causes Jealousy?
Our Help with Understanding What Causes Jealousy...
Some of us can remember experiencing feelings of jealousy when we were young children. This is because jealousy, like all sin, is inherent. In other words, no one has to teach us how to do it.
When we were children, adults found jealousy humorous and cute. But as adults, jealousy is a serious problem. A problem especially for the person you have chosen to marry. Where does jealousy come from? We believe jealousy comes from fear which is born out of your insecurities. For instance, you may be insecure about your outward appearance or your intellect. So, when your spouse interacts with someone of the opposite sex who appears to be more attractive, or more intelligent than you, you begin to feel threatened. You are fearful that your spouse may find the other person more appealing than you. Fearful that your spouse may eventually leave you for that other person. But listen, there's no need to feel defeated where all of this is concerned. Self-image is something most of us have struggled with at some point. Many people have been set free from jealousy and you can be too! If you are a woman reading this would you please do us a favor? Take this free self-esteem test to find out what's causing your jealousy. This test was designed especially for women and is absolutely well worth your time.
Tips on How to Handle Your Jealousy
Knowing how to deal with jealousy is just as important as knowing what causes jealousy. Use the steps below to to help you understand and rid yourself of
jealousy:
1. Unless your partner has given you reason not to trust, you must understand your jealousy has more to do with you than it does them. 2. Take an honest look at your past and try to identify when you first began feeling insecure. Was it in grade school, high school, or maybe in college? 3. Begin praying daily about your jealousy and asking God to deliver you by the power of His Holy Spirit. 4. Know that you have nothing to be insecure about. The Bible says that we are all fearfully and wonderfully made. You were hadcrafted by the Father and that makes you beautiful! 5. Pamper yourself regularly by doing whatever it is you enjoy. 6. Every morning when you awake, look in the mirror and tell yourself: "I am a beautiful creation of God. There is no one like me because I am uniquely handcrafted. On today, I will honor
God by appreciating the spirit, mind, body, gifts, and abilities He has given me."
