When Will My Husband Come to His Senses

by Christine
(Michigan)

Question: When Will My Husband Come to His Senses. Married for 35 years my husband moved out and began seeing other women as friends. He would not talk to me at all; he emotionally divorced me. He has a control problem, and refuses accountability. He is living to please himself and has fallen away from God. We are legally divorced now, although I am his covenant wife. He now regrets the divorce, but thinks I should have stayed married to him while he kept the lifestyle of girlfriends. He is deceived. I am waiting for him to reach the bottom so he will reach out to God and then will want to please Him by coming back to me.

Answer: Hi Christine. Just like the story of the Prodigal Son, only God knows when he will come to himself. Only God knows what it will take for him to come to himself. So, all you can do is keep praying for him daily.

In all honesty, the conversations that the two of you are having at this point about what you should have did or did not do, are fruitless. Unless the two of you have young children together, there really is no need to even continue communicating with him.

Step back and allow God time to do whatever He's going to do, without your intervention. In other words, completely take your hands off and just trust God. When will God answer? Only God knows. Your job is just to keep praying and trusting.

Also, on a side note. If your husband never REALLY gave his life to the Lord, then your prayers should include asking the Father to save Him. Because even if he comes back to you, it would only be a repeat of the past if he has not given his life to Christ.

Thank you for visiting our site. Be blessed in the Lord.

Love in Christ,
