Where is God in my failing Christian marriage?

by Lisa
(Batavia, OH)

Where is God in my failing Christian marriage? My husband Todd and I have been married for 3 years and are spending time apart. He won't grow up and think about our future! He is 36 and still lives off his parents money and does not even consider how much it would take to provide for children. We fought for the first year over everything from finances to communication. We have been to countless counselors, financial advisers, and pastors. I am running out of options and feel so discouraged. I feel he is running from God and not truly seeking him in His Word and Prayer. I have been reading scriptures daily and crying out to the Lord! I don't feel there is any hope in our marriage except to file for divorce. I don't want to do this!

Hi Lisa, i know you are discouraged but the thing you have to remember is that everything we have here on earth was loaned to us for this brief time we are here. We need to keep our eyes on God for when we get judged we will be standing in front of Christ on our own, not next to our husband or children. We are all responsible for our own salvation and we have to keep our eyes on the end prize. divorce should not even be in our vocabulary for Jesus said in Mark 10:11-12 [Jesus] answered, “Anyone who divorces his wife and marries another woman commits adultery against her. And if she divorces her husband and marries another man, she commits adultery.” the only reason for divorce should be adultery it says in Matthew 5:31-32 “It has been said, ‘Anyone who divorces his wife must give her a certificate of divorce.’ But I tell you that anyone who divorces his wife, except for marital unfaithfulness, causes her to become an adulteress, and anyone who marries the divorced woman commits adultery.” just show your husband love for that is hard to resist.
